The refund request must:

Health insurance covers the cost of modern weight-loss medications only under clearly defined medical conditions.

Coverage of the medication is possible if:

• your BMI is over 35
  or
• your BMI is over 28 and you have at least one weight-related comorbidity
  e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnoea or elevated blood lipid levels 

Also important: In these cases an on-site consultation in Zurich (Asylstrasse 104) is required

After you've completed the medical questionnaire on our website, your answers are reviewed by our system to confirm your eligibility for our programme. If this is positive, your journey with ViaSlim can begin! You book the first appointment with your doctor by video consultation. We also recommend having a blood sample taken, which you can do at one of our many laboratory centres across Switzerland or at your GP.

No, a special scale is not strictly necessary. However, we recommend using a modern body-analysis scale, so your progress can be assessed as precisely and individually as possible.

Why a body-composition scale is useful: Such a scale measures not only your weight but also other values such as body fat, muscle mass and water content. This information helps our treatment team assess your progress on a medically grounded basis and adjust your therapy optimally where needed.

Our recommendation from ViaSlim: You can of course use your own scale. Optionally, we additionally offer you a modern smart scale from Withings for a one-off 149 CHF. This enables automatic transfer of the readings, including seamless integration into your treatment history. The scale is yours and can continue to be used after the programme
The scale is not a must, but a clear advantage for even more individual care and a better medical assessment of your progress.

If the prescription medication isn't suitable for you, we'll refund you the amount immediately. You can end the programme at any time.

Only if you're interested in our basic insurance model and you have taken out the GP model or HMO with your health insurer. In that case we need a referral from your GP. However, you can register with us beforehand, as after registration you'll receive a corresponding form from us that you can send to your GP. With a telephone model («Telmed») you would need to ask your insurer in advance, before the visit, to enable the referral to us (focus on obesity medicine). Many policies, however, include free choice of doctor, so you can easily make an appointment with us directly, either online or by phone

Yes, to take part in the ViaSlim programme we need a current lab test, including a full blood count, lipid profile, TSH and HbA1c, which must be no older than six months.

The lab test can be carried out at your GP and the result then sent to viaslim@hin.ch. Alternatively, we offer blood sampling at one of our partner locations. You can find our partner locations at: https://booking.mymediservice.ch/viaslim/

Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you'd like to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This way we can pass the appointment on to other patients.

Appointments not cancelled in time or missed without notice are charged an administrative fee: this flat-rate compensation currently amounts to: CHF 50.– for nutrition counselling and health coaching appointments and CHF 75.– for medical consultations.

At ViaSlim, appointments are allocated in several steps to make sure you receive the best possible care:
​Before you can book your initial consultation, we ask you to enter your details via our quiz. This helps us check your eligibility for the therapy and offer you an optimal treatment plan.

1. After a successful indication check. You can make an appointment for your initial consultation directly via our digital booking form.

2. Free initial phone consultation: If you have questions beforehand, you can book a no-obligation initial consultation with our care team at any time. Feel free to write to us at support@viaslim.ch.

​3. Booking in the mobile app: After registration, you can also manage and book your appointments directly in our ViaSlim app, conveniently and flexibly from anywhere.

Patients on the basic insurance model are billed via the basic insurance model, as with any doctor's visit in Switzerland. For this, the services are billed directly with your health insurer.

With the self-payer model, we let you pay conveniently online by credit card. As a subscription service, we make sure you don't have to worry about your medication running out. After your registration, we charge your card regularly, depending on the prescribed treatment. Your medication is delivered by our shipping partner, so you don't have to worry about delivery.

After the first payment and the dispatch of your order, your next payment is automatically charged 28 days later to ensure continuous supply. For each further order on your prescription, payment is charged every 28 days. If you need to postpone your next payment, contact our team via the contact form.

You can cancel at any time before your next payment. We will stop all future payments and orders. Please note that processing can take 1-2 days. To ensure your subscription is cancelled in time, please inform our team a few days before your next payment date if you'd like to cancel.

Our partner pharmacy sends you the medication monthly, directly to your home or to an address of your choice. We deliver in cooled packages to ensure the cold chain of your medication.

Once you've completed the medical questionnaire and had your initial consultation with one of our doctors. When the doctor determines that the treatment is suitable for you and there are no further open questions, you'll receive your treatment plan. Once you've reviewed and confirmed your plan, your order is sent to the pharmacy. Our partner pharmacy packages your medication and usually ships it to our patients as quickly as possible.
