Run your own consultations, truly accompany patients. APN at top-of-licence level, at last.

Obesity is one of the most poorly managed chronic diseases in Switzerland, even though effective therapies exist. We're changing that.

ViaSlim is Switzerland's first fully physician-led, hybrid weight-loss clinic and combines modern weight-loss therapy (GLP-1) with individual nutrition counselling, medical care and our own app. Covered by health insurance (KVG) and self-pay.

In just one year we have treated over 1’500 patients, are profitable and growing fast. We publish scientifically, work evidence-based and rethink care from the ground up. For us, nursing is not an assistant function but a central part of clinical care.

Your role

As an Advanced Practice Nurse with a focus on chronic care, you run independent consultations with our patients, both on site in Zurich and Basel and via telemedicine. You educate patients on ongoing and newly initiated GLP-1 therapies (semaglutide, tirzepatide), instruct them in correct self-administration, accompany dose titrations and are the first point of contact for side effects and therapeutic questions.

You work directly with our medical team, not in a support role but as a clinical partner on an equal footing. You take the load off us physicians where your APN expertise creates the greatest added value: in the continuous care of people with chronic disease.

Your tasks

  1. Independent APN consultations (on site & telemedicine) Structured education and instruction sessions on GLP-1 therapies including pen handling, injection technique and self-management. Accompanying dose titrations, managing side effects and delivering adherence-promoting interventions. Initial and follow-up consultations on site in Zurich, from May 2026 also in Basel, and by video Switzerland-wide. Clinical assessment, recognising red flags and triage to the physicians where needed.
  2. Chronic care management & patient support Long-term care of patients with obesity and associated comorbidities (type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, MASLD, cardiovascular risk factors). Structured follow-ups, progress documentation in Welkin (EHR) and adjustment of the individual treatment plan. Promoting self-efficacy, adherence and behaviour change. Evidence-based and empathetic.
  3. Clinical development & nursing expertise Helping shape our clinical pathways (Precision Pathway) together with the medical team. Professional input for our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nutrition counsellors, health coaches and care managers. Involvement in our scientific work. We publish in peer-reviewed journals (including Obesity and Lancet Digital Health) and look forward to your contribution.

What you bring

Essential requirements

  • Registered nurse (HF/FH) with a completed or advanced Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) or APN further training
  • Residence in Switzerland and willingness to work regularly on site in Zurich and, from May 2026, in Basel
  • Clinical experience in chronic care, ideally diabetology, endocrinology, cardiology, general practice or obesity care
  • Very good written and spoken German and English (at least C1 German, B2 English)
  • Willingness to run consultations independently and take on clinical responsibility
Desirable: Experience with GLP-1 therapies (semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide). French (B2+) as a major plus for French-speaking Switzerland. Experience with telemedicine or digital care models. Routine with electronic patient records (e.g. Welkin). Scientific interest.

What defines you as a person: Clinical independence. Empathetic, clear and reliable in communication. Structured and quality-conscious, even under time pressure. The drive to actively shape an APN role rather than just fill it.

What awaits you with us

  • APN on an equal footing. You run your own consultations, make clinical decisions and work in a real team with physicians. Not in the shadows.
  • Hybrid, not rigid. On-site days in Zurich and Basel combined with telemedicine. Flexible and predictable.
  • Chronic care that works. You accompany patients over months and see how weight, blood values and quality of life change.
  • Science included. You become part of our published research. We give you room to develop academically.
  • Pace & growth. We're scaling fast. And so are your responsibility, your room to shape things and your career path.
  • Fair terms. Market-rate salary, pension fund (BVG), 25 days of holiday, structured onboarding and further training budget.
  • Two locations, one team. Modern office at Asylstrasse 104 in Zurich. From May 2026 additionally in Basel (Binningen).

Don't tick every box? Apply anyway.

Very few CVs match a job profile 100%. Outstanding candidates in particular often only apply once they meet every single point. At ViaSlim we explicitly want it to be different.

If you see yourself in the role but, for example, haven't (yet) completed an MScN, your English isn't quite at C1 or you lack GLP-1 experience: apply anyway. Attitude, clinical curiosity and the will to grow into the role are often worth more to us than a perfectly ticked-off checklist.

Apply. Short and personal.

Send us your CV and, if you like, a few sentences on why the APN role at ViaSlim excites you. Long cover letters aren't necessary. Dr. med. Norbert Niebuhr (CMO) answers questions about the role within 48 hours.
