Who we are
ViaSlim is Switzerland's first hybrid centre for obesity and metabolic medicine, with locations in Zurich, Basel-Binningen and Bern. Because obesity rarely comes alone, your day-to-day covers the full spectrum of outpatient psychiatry: depression and anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, trauma, addiction and personality issues, often closely interwoven with weight and eating behaviour. Consultations take place in our practices, complemented by video consultations.
What awaits you
- Psychiatric assessments with careful differential diagnosis in patients with obesity, in the practice and partly by video
- Pharmacotherapy, follow-ups and therapeutic consultations, coordinated with the pharmacological obesity treatment
- If you wish, professional responsibility and supervision for resident physicians as well as collaboration with our psychologists
- On-site consultations in Zurich or Basel-Binningen
- No on-call duties and no nights. If you work alongside a hospital post, video consultations are also possible in the evening or on Saturdays.
What you bring
- Specialist title in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (Swiss federal or MEBEKO-recognised), or you are about to obtain it
- Very good German; French is a plus in Basel and Bern
- Interest in the psychological side of obesity. Specific experience is not required, we'll give you a structured induction.
- Enjoyment of self-reliant, outpatient work in an interdisciplinary team
What we offer
- CHF 220’000 annual salary at 100%, pro rata for part-time
- Workload from 20%, easy to combine with a hospital or practice post or as a transition into retirement
- Predictable days, share of home office by arrangement
- Our Care Team handles scheduling and administration
- We apply for the cantonal licence to practise together with you
- 5 weeks of holiday, 6 from age 50
What happens next
You don't need an application dossier: a CV or a few lines are enough. We'll get back to you within two working days. The first meeting is a 20-minute video call with Dr. med. Norbert Niebuhr, co-founder and a physician himself.
